Services
OMNI Engineering provides professional mechanical design and CAD drafting services for Australian manufacturers, fabricators, and product developers. Our focus is on delivering clear, manufacturing-ready design data that integrates smoothly into real-world fabrication, machining, and assembly workflows.
Mechanical Design & CAD Drafting
Clear design intent reduces fabrication questions, rework, and downstream delays.
Mechanical design and CAD drafting form the core of our services. We use SolidWorks to develop parametric models for individual components, sub-assemblies, and complete mechanical systems. Deliverables can be provided as SolidWorks native files where required, as well as in neutral CAD formats such as STEP, IGES, DXF, and PDF to support fabrication, machining, and assembly.
3D mechanical design of individual components
Sub-assemblies and complete mechanical assemblies
Parametric SolidWorks models structured for revision and reuse
Design intent aligned with fabrication, machining, and assembly requirements
All models are developed with downstream fabrication, machining, and assembly in mind.
Manufacturing & Fabrication Drawings
We produce clear, unambiguous manufacturing and fabrication drawings intended for direct use in Australian workshop and production environments. Our drawings are fully dimensioned and tolerance-aware, supporting CNC machining, fabrication, and assembly processes while minimising interpretation errors during manufacture.
Fully dimensioned drawings minimise interpretation errors and support efficient workshop production.
Fully dimensioned fabrication and machining drawings
Tolerances, notes, and callouts aligned with manufacturing processes
Assembly drawings and exploded views where required
Bill of Materials (BOM) and component documentation
Design for Manufacturing Support
Design decisions are made with machining, fabrication, and supplier capabilities in mind.
Our design-for-manufacturing support ensures CAD data is prepared specifically for handover to Australian suppliers and fabrication partners. This includes geometry optimisation, process-aware design decisions, and export-ready files suitable for CNC machining, fabrication, or additive manufacturing workflows.
Design for CNC machining (milling, turning, fabrication)
Design for additive manufacturing (3D printing)
Geometry optimisation for manufacturability
Export-ready files for machining, fabrication, or supplier coordination
OMNI Engineering does not operate manufacturing equipment in-house. Our focus is on delivering clear, accurate design data that integrates smoothly into external production workflows.
CAD Support & File Updates
Existing CAD data is cleaned, structured, and updated to reduce future revision effort.
For clients with existing CAD data, we offer ongoing CAD support including design revisions, legacy file clean-up, drawing updates, and preparation for manufacture. This service supports Australian businesses requiring flexible drafting assistance without maintaining in-house CAD resources.
CAD revisions and design changes
Legacy file clean-up and reorganisation
Drawing updates and standardisation
Preparation of files for external manufacture or project handover
Specialist Capabilities
Reverse Engineering & Scan-to-CAD
Using a scan-to-CAD workflow, physical parts or mesh data are converted into accurate, fully parametric CAD models developed in SolidWorks and supplied in formats suitable for modification, analysis, and manufacture across a range of CAD and CAM environments.
Conversion of scan or mesh data into parametric CAD models
Reconstruction of legacy or undocumented components
Design modification and optimisation of existing parts
CAD output suitable for manufacturing and documentation

OMNI Engineering provides mechanical design and CAD drafting services for Australian manufacturers, fabricators, and product developers requiring production-ready design data.
Manufacturing and fabrication businesses
Engineering teams seeking external CAD support
Product developers preparing designs for production
Clients requiring accurate, tolerance-aware drawings
Projects with clearly defined manufacturing intent
If your enquiry relates to mechanical design, CAD drafting, or manufacturing documentation, we’re happy to discuss your requirements.
How We Work
Projects are delivered on either an hourly or fixed-price basis depending on scope clarity and complexity. All work is scoped prior to commencement, with clear communication, practical engineering judgement, and professional delivery aligned to Australian industry standards and client requirements.
Clear scope definition
Practical, manufacturing-aware design decisions
Transparent communication
Professional, on-time delivery
Experience across automotive, industrial, and bespoke mechanical systems
Projects ranging from individual components to complete assemblies
Our goal is to provide CAD support that integrates seamlessly into your existing workflow, whether you require short-term assistance or ongoing design support.
We regularly collaborate with external manufacturers and fabricators to ensure smooth handover.
Pricing & Engagement
Fixed-price work is typically used where the scope and deliverables can be clearly defined upfront. Hourly engagement is better suited to exploratory work, reverse engineering, design iteration, or evolving project requirements.
In all cases, scope and pricing are agreed prior to commencement.
Request a project review
